This has to be the coolest implementation I've seen of the Pocket PC for realtors yet. They combine the iPAQ, a Citrix Server and CDMA to allow the realtor to show images on their Pocket PC. Because everything is housed on the corporate network, there is no security risk if the device is lost or stolen.
It is a little slow now, but that is changing. "The company was waiting for the delayed CDMA 1x network, due in July. This would offer speeds of between 40 and 80 kilobits per second (Kbps) and allow pictures of property to show in less than a second. They currently take two to three seconds."
"Development work was done by Online Solutions, which handled B&T's regular database and internet offering. Hooper said the project was expected to cost $30,000." That will pay for itself in just a few sales. Thanks to William Broad for the heads up.
