Icestream, a Norwegian mobile media company, has a video player optimized for low bandwidth networks, such as the GSM network. Their compression technique is three to four times more efficient than the mpeg-4 (according to the company). Peter Lindblom, Developer Manager, demonstrates Icestream Video Player running on an GSM enabled iPAQ Pocket PC.
One of the popular "real world" shows in Swedish TV today is called "Big Brother". By sending a premium SMS that costs US$1 you get a pass key that lets you watch the show right on your Pocket PC for 30 minutes.
