Keeping track of the boys of summer

I am not a baseball fan at all. Generally the game moves too slow for me, but I get a huge thrill of watching my 7 year old play and his 3rd year in the game started this weekend. Now that he is in a league that follows many of the normal rules of baseball, I decided to see if I could track his season this year on my Pocket PC. I tried paper, and when you only have a grasp on the basic rules of the game, scoring baseball makes scoring bowling look like common sense. :-)
Enter K-ForCE. I read their 115 screen tutorial (I recommend you print it off) and it showed me the basics. I was able to keep up with the game without too much trouble the first time out, a testament to how the program makes it both simple and keeps you from messing up too badly.
I actually found it kept me more involved with the game than if I was just sitting in the stands as I was not too inclined to get up and wander over to the concession stand or talk to the grandparents too much. At $34.95 it is on the higher side of Pocket PC software, and I'll probably try to score at least one more game to make sure it is something I want to do for the rest of the season. I won't use it this fall when my 4 year old starts his 1st year in the game. Somehow I don't think K-ForCE has a provision for someone making 5 strikes then running from home to second and finally stopping somewhere in right field to talk to his buddy. :-)
